Linux - "Evaluate yourself"



In this article i would like to share some of  the tricky questions related to Linux, Let’s have a brain-storming session on Linux, for Linux enthusiasts am sure if you don’t know the answers, you would surely like to browse on these topics.

I will keep updating this article with more questions, here goes version 1 of my draft:- 



  • Command to remove a file -file-name (name start with "-" )
  • What is the -v flag for when using grep?
  • What is the -h flag in rpm?
  •  How would you direct stderr to stdout for a given command?
  •  You type google.com into your preferred web browser - what happens? – how does DNS/squid/webserver comes into picture

  •   How to restrict login to a server for maintenance
  •   How to load a module in to the running kernel

  •  What are the difference run levels in Linux
